The Adventure Parks of Reggio Emilia, Modena and Parma

An adventure park is a true paradise for lovers of outdoor challenges. It is a type of amusement park consisting of a set of acrobatic courses (for both adults and children) set at various heights above the ground. These courses are made up of walkways, nets, pulleys, bridges, beams, ropes and other structures of varying degrees of difficulty. And once back on the ground, there are relaxation areas, refreshment stands and picnic areas, perfect for regaining energy.

REGGIO EMILIA

Cerwood Adventure Park

Nestled in the Parco Nazionale dell’Appennino Tosco-Emiliano, near Cervarezza, Cerwood is the first adventure park created in Emilia-Romagna and the largest adventure park in Italy. There are no less than 27 routes and they are divided into Baby and Junior Adventure Trails (minimum height to access 100 cm) and Adventure Trails for Kids & Adults (accessible from a height of 140 cm). But it doesn’t end there! The activities at the Cerwood Adventure Park are many and all different: archery, miniature golf, play areas for the little ones to have fun, tubby tracks, the exciting Gnome Trail (an easy loop trail to discover the world of gnomes and the rules of the forest) and much more. In addition, there is also the bar-restaurant ‘La Locanda di Cerwood’ and picnic areas equipped with benches and barbecues.

River Park Adventure Park

In the floodplain of Luzzara (an area of important naturalistic value between the right bank of the river Po and the main embankment), in a splendid wood of centuries-old oaks, is the River Park Adventure Park, where it is possible to try out exciting adrenalin courses. The park consists of five courses for children and adults with increasing difficulty (green, blue, red, grey and black). For the little ones, there are two baby courses (yellow and orange) with medium difficulty and a junior course with medium-high difficulty. For children, there is also an area with games, inflatables and slides. Finally, inside the park there are benches and picnic tables for picnic lunches, and a seasonal kiosk-bar, where it is possible to eat hamburgers, sandwiches, salads and grills, with live music at weekends.

MODENA

Piane di Mocogno Adventure Park

In Piane di Mocogno (a hamlet of the municipality of Lama Mocogno), in the heart of the Modenese Apennines, lies this adventure park (suitable for young and old) that will entertain you, excite you and, why not, even give you a little thrill. It has two courses: green, of medium-low difficulty, which is 2 metres above the ground and consists of 6 activities plus a final zip line; and blue, of medium-high difficulty, suspended 6 metres above the ground, which has 13 platforms and also ends with a zip line. Near the park there is also a sports climbing wall, a baby park, a tubing track and an area equipped to practice slacklining, a balancing and balancing exercise suspended on a webbing stretched between two points. A minimum age of 5 years and a height of 100 cm are required to enter the park.

Esploraria Adventure Park

Also in the province of Modena, in Lame di Zocca, there is the Esploraria Adventure Park, where it is possible to enjoy a variety of fun and sports activities in the open air. There are 12 incredible albering courses: 3 Baby courses (for adventurers from 3 to 5 years old, with a reference measurement of 100 cm), 4 Children’s courses (indicatively from 5 to 8 years old, with a reference measurement of 125 cm) and 5 courses for Teenagers and Adults (indicatively from 9 to 99 years old, with a reference measurement of 160 cm). But there is more than just albering. Children and teenagers from 5 years of age can also enjoy climbing, snow-tubing and archery. The park also organises rides along the Apennines on mountain bikes, with rentals on site. Finally, there is also a relaxation area and a refreshment point.

Adventure Park Cimone

In the locality of Lago della Ninfa (in Sestola), at an altitude of 1,500 metres above sea level, is the Cimone Adventure Park, a park inspired by the nature that surrounds it and of which it is a part. The routes are divided into: Top Routes, divided into various stages in a crescendo of difficulty, for children/adults over 140 cm tall; Junior Route, divided into several stages, dedicated to young explorers from 5 years of age and up to 140 cm tall; and Baby Route, dedicated to toddlers from 2 to 5 years old. The park also has a Baby Play Area, a monorail for Funbob descents, two slopes for descents with special rubber dinghies, trampolines, a chairlift, a beautiful panoramic terrace and the Irish Good Bye refreshment point.

PARMA

Forestavventura

In the heart of the Parco dei Cento Laghi, in the forest adjacent to the refuge of the Prato Spilla ski resort (at an altitude of more than 1,000 metres), is the Forest Adventure Park. The park consists of 7 courses designed for children over the age of 10, 5 courses for children between the ages of 4 and 9, a Baby Adventure course for toddlers with slides and swings, and a large refreshment area equipped with tables and benches. Near the park, it is also possible to go tree camping (i.e., sleeping in a tent suspended among the trees), go on nature excursions accompanied by expert staff, and practice sport fishing and mushroom picking, which grow in abundance in the local woods.

Monte Fuso Adventure Park

The Monte Fuso Adventure Park is located in the Fauna Centre of the same name in Neviano degli Arduini, where there are more than one hundred ungulates (deer, fallow deer and mouflon), some species of galliformes, squirrels, dormice, foxes, badgers and beech martens. Inside the park, there are 4 high acrobatic courses for adults and 2 courses for children (from 4 years of age) with steel and wooden ropes that climb harmoniously through the forest area. In addition to the adventure park, the wildlife centre includes a rich network of trails, a visitor centre, a refreshment point, an equipped area for camper vans, a playground for children and a picnic area.
