But not only that, in fact, in the surroundings of our farmhouse there are countless activities that you can do. Let’s find out about them together!
BOAT RIDE ON THE PO
For those who want to have an extraordinary experience in contact with nature and savor all the charm of the wonderful landscapes that distinguish the Po River area, all they need to do is board the Stradivari Motorship departing from the historic river tourist port of Boretto. Located a little more than 40 km from our farmhouse, the port of Boretto is undoubtedly the best equipped and most characteristic of the stretch of the Po River that runs through the Emilia Romagna Region from Piacenza to Ferrara. The Motonave Stradivari is the longest river boat in Italy (62 meters long and 10 meters wide) and was built in 1976 as a tribute to the famous luthier and violin maker.
The Po River basin in which the motorboat is located is characterized by an extraordinary variety of natural and cultural scenery. Equipped with all modern amenities, the Stradivari will make every moment experienced on the ship unforgettable. Group hikes can be booked, while at certain times of the year there are trips with set itineraries in which individual hikers can also participate. Upon reaching a minimum number of passengers and under certain hydrometric conditions Stradivari offers the following routes: Boretto-Mantova; Boretto-Motta Baluffi; Boretto-Casalmaggiore; and Boretto-Riva di Suzzara. In addition, a restaurant is also operational on board.

HOT AIR BALLOON FLIGHT
In Carpineti, a quaint town about 30 km from our farmhouse particularly famous for its fascinating matildic castle, it is possible to take exciting hot air balloon flights to enjoy a wonderful view from above of castles, ancient villages and anything else pleasant the vast expanses of the Reggio Emilia Apennines can offer. A unique and exciting experience absolutely not to be missed!
The hot air balloon will fly lightly and silently over the Matilda territories and allow you to enjoy the impressive 360-degree landscape. From the sky you will enjoy breathtaking views and can capture these moments with your cameras. Flights take place year-round, early in the morning or late in the afternoon. The takeoff area will be decided according to the wind direction. The duration of the flight is 60 to 80 minutes depending on weather conditions, and upon landing there will be a baptism of the air: passengers who have flown for the first time aboard a hot air balloon will be given a diploma, and a packed breakfast with typical products will be offered.

PARACHUTE JUMP
Do you want to experience the thrill of flight without the commitment of taking a real skydiving course? Then you definitely need to try Tandem Jump, the quickest and easiest way to approach sport skydiving. The area where the launches take place is the Reggio Emilia Flying Field and is only a few miles from our farmhouse.
Parachuting is carried out 12 months of the year and no experience is required. It takes only 20 minutes of preparation done directly at the airport. Once you are harnessed together with a qualified instructor who will make sure you jump in the utmost safety, you will fly up to an altitude of 4,200 meters and jump down for 60 seconds reaching a drop speed of about 200 km/h until the instructor opens the parachute and together you will enjoy the spectacle of the city seen from above for about ten minutes.

CANYONING IN THE REGGIO EMILIA APENNINES
For those not familiar with it, canyoning is a very fun sporting activity that is practiced in the mountains and consists of descending on foot narrow gorges traversed by small streams, typically torrents. For those who want to try this extraordinary experience, they can get in touch with the La Pietra Mountain Guides in Castelnovo ne’ Monti.
In the vicinity of our farmhouse there are two trails where canyoning can be practiced: on the Secchia River and on the Dolo stream. As it is structured, that is, with the presence of a Guide, canyoning is suitable for everyone. In addition to enjoying natural jumps and slides carved into the rock by water, you can slide on zip lines up to 50 meters long, secured with a rope by the mountain guide.

EMILIAN COOKING CLASS
A few kilometers from our farmhouse, and precisely in Arceto di Scandiano, thanks to Exploreat, the first and only platform dedicated to taste explorers, it is possible to participate in a very interesting traditional Emilian cooking course.
The course will turn you into real Rezdore capable of cooking excellent first courses of traditional cuisine. Rezdora in the Emilian dialect is translated as “Reggitora,” meaning the woman who once held the reins of the household and was above all an excellent cook. The course lasts about 3 1/2 hours, at the end of which you will know how to cook delicious herb tortelloni and tagliatelle. More than a cooking class, this is a good opportunity to discover ancient culinary traditions. The course will conclude with a tasting of what was cooked.

VISITS TO DAIRIES
Recognized worldwide as the “King of Cheeses,” Parmigiano Reggiano is an ode to tradition. Needing no introduction, it is the most characteristic product of the land of Emilia. Its origins date back to the Middle Ages, and the production area includes the provinces of Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna and Mantua. Unlike other emblazoned cheeses, Parmigiano Reggiano is “made” only by the expert hands of the cheesemaker, in the same artisanal way of days gone by.
The Parmigiano-Reggiano Consortium offers guided tours of dairies to see the cheesemakers at work and find out how one of Emilia’s most beloved products in the world is created. An experience that fascinates young and old alike. A guided tour of a dairy offers visitors the opportunity to witness all stages of processing.
